CME Accreditation

The International Liver Congress 2014 by EASL - 49th annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution for the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).

Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME credits to AMA credits can be found at:

Live educational activities, occuring outside of Canada, recognized by the UEMS-EACCME for ECMEC credits are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

EACCME Credits
Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. The EACCME credit system is based on 1 ECMEC per hour with a maximum of 2 ECMECs for half a day and 6 ECMECs for a full day event.

The International Liver Congress™ 2014 is designated for a maximum of 27 European CME credits (ECMEC).

Continuing our efforts to become a greener association, EASL will again be distributing Poken tags to each participant at the 2014 International Liver Congress in London.

Poken is your electronic business card and a digital briefcase that makes networking extremely efficient by enabling you to quickly exchange contact information as well as gather a large quantity of information with a simple touch.

What are Pokens?

Poken is a USB device that uses NFC technology allowing the collection of information by simply having these devices touch one another. You can collect all kinds of information:

  • Products
  • Web links
  • Organisations
  • Peoples & contact information and more

Pokens enable participants to gather and organise information without the need for time consuming data entry. Data collected can be easily synchronized with any of the major contact management tools such as Outlook.

TOUCH IT: Exchange digital business cards by touching your poken to other visitors pokens; simply place the hands together, palm-to-palm. Collect data from Touchpoints in the exhibition area; simply touch the poken tags on display with your poken, and when the green lights glow you will have collected the digital data!

GET IT: Plug your poken into your computer USB port, log in with the credentials provided to you (you will receive an email), and press the sync button to see your new contacts and the digital media youve collected.

SHARE IT: See your business card collection, your documents, and more, in your personal account. Sync with Outlook, download to your computer, or view everything on your mobile phone.

Sponsors and exhibitors will be displaying poken tag Touchpoints onsite allowing you to collect a wide range of information without having to carry masses of paper around with you. Simply collect the items of interest as you walk around the exhibition and visit booths, then view the information collected when back at your office or home.

Every registered delegate will receive a complimentary 2014 ILC poken so dont forget to collect yours onsite at the registration desk.
