Abstract Submission

If I submit an abstract do I have to attend the congress?
All accepted abstracts are scheduled in the Scientific Programme either as Oral or Poster presentations. It is expected that at least one author of the abstract attend the meeting to present the work and answer questions. Only abstracts of registered participants will be scheduled in the Scientific Programme.  

I have submitted an abstract, when will I know if it has been accepted?
Only after all abstracts have been reviewed by the Scientific Committee will notifications be sent to the abstract submitters.
Abstract status notifications will be sent to all abstract submitters by the end of January 2014.

My abstract has been accepted but I do not have a copy. Are you able to send one to me?
Copies of your submitted abstracts can be sent to you by email. Please write an email to for further details.


How do I register for the congress?
In order to register for the congress, please register online.

How can I pay the registration fees?
Payment of registration fees can be made by credit card or bank transfer. 

Can I receive an invoice under the sponsoring Company/ Hospital’s name?
Yes. If you require an invoice to be issued to the sponsoring company, please send an email to the registration department at specifying the services requested and full address of the sponsoring company.

Can I register for the congress without paying?
Yes, but your registration will be confirmed only when full payment is received.

Can I register before the early fee deadline and pay later?
In order to benefit from the early fee registration discount, payment must be received before the deadline.

Can I register on site?
Yes. Onsite registration is available during the conference days. Onsite fees will apply.

What does my registration fees include?

Will I receive a confirmation letter after I have finished registering?
Yes. A detailed confirmation letter and receipt will be sent to you by email as soon as payment is received and registration is completed.


How can I find out information about hotels and their rates?
Congrex is offering ILC 2014 participants specially reduced rates for various hotels in London.

How can I book my room and should I pay in advance?
In order to book a room, please book online. Full payment is requested in order to confirm the booking.

Will I receive a hotel confirmation?
Yes. A detailed confirmation will be sent to you by email as soon as the booking is confirmed and the requested payment is received.

Can I book a hotel room without registering for the congress?
Yes. You can book your room without registering by clicking on the "Booking" button of your chosen hotel available on the website via the hotel accommodation page. If you need further assistance, please email the accommodation department at

Invitation Letters & Visa Applications

How do I apply for a visa to visit the United Kingdom?
Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. We suggest you contact your local British Consulate for full and official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedure that apply to you.

Where can I get a congress invitation letter so that I can apply for a visa?
Individuals requiring an official letter of invitation in order to attend the meeting may write to the Organising Secretariat ( Please make sure to send us your full name (as printed in your passport), full postal address and passport number. Please note that invitation letters can only be sent if the registration and payment has been received.

Is it possible to send an official invitation letter directly to my local British Consulate?
Unfortunately we are unable to send invitation letters directly to consulates. Invitation letters are prepared solely for individuals and are mailed directly to them.

CME Credits

Is the conference CME accredited?

EASL has applied to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide CME accreditation for medical specialists attending the EASL Monothematic Conference:  Translational Research in Chronic Viral Hepatitis - Bridging Basic Science and Clinical ResearchThe EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS)

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact the AMA.

Vice versa, all CME activities approved by the American Medical Association (AMA) are recognized by the EACCME. The American Medical Association is an ‘Accredited Provider’ of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) – USA.
