EASL Young Investigators’ Bursaries

EASL's aim is to support Young Investigators and help them attend the 2014 International Liver Congress™. Scientists with an excellent abstract accepted for presentation at the meeting will be considered for a travel grant.

In order to achieve the above, EASL offers 2 types of bursaries to the presenting authors only of the best accepted abstracts who are aged 35 or under (as of January 1st, 2014) and/or are still in training.

The application is available to anyone fulfilling the above criteria, without geographical restrictions!

200 bursaries of Euro 650 each will be attributed to the presenting author of the best scored abstracts. This bursary will be handed out in cash during the conference.
In addition, the registration fees to the congress will be waived.

Presenting authors of the remaining best 200 accepted abstracts answering the same criteria as mentioned above will have their registration fees waived.

All Bursary Recipients will receive one year free membership to EASL!

Bursary request must be made on the abstract form during the abstract submission only.
Preliminary requests received after the abstract submissions will not be considered.

The name of the presenting author must match the name of the applicant.

The following supporting documents must be in English and are to be uploaded via the submission system as BMP, GIF, JPG or PDF files (size limit 1 MB) with abstract submission, but not later than November 25, 2013.

  1. Proof of age: a clear copy of your ID, Passport or Drivers license indicating your date of birth
  2. Proof of trainee status: a letter signed by the head of department on the department’s letterhead confirming that you are a trainee

EASL will automatically decline all bursary requests that do not conform to the above terms.
Name changes of presenting authors (different than at the time of the abstract submission) will only be accepted until November 25, 2013.

If you have difficulties uploading the necessary proofs, please contact ILC2014@abstractserver.com
Any queries relating to bursaries should be sent to: Scientificprogramme.ILC@congrex-switzerland.com

Deadline for receipt of documents is November 25, 2013

Confirmations of the type of bursary granted will be sent out by beginning of February 2014

Confirmed bursary applicants will automatically be registered to the congress.
(No payment of registration fees is required)

EASL is willing to assist certain participants with an accepted paper, from resource-limited countries, who encounter financial difficulties to attend the 2014 International Liver Congress™. Further details can be obtained by contacting the EASL Office, IN WRITING ONLY, after the abstract selection has been officially announced.

EASL will grant the above bursaries only to those presenting authors who will attest that they are not being sponsored or covered by any other source in order to attend the 2014 International Liver Congress™.
